Prizes awarded to the winners of the Competition of Ideas for Architectural Design of Service Areas at Expo 2015. First prize of 90,000 euros.

Today, Thursday, 12 April 2012, the winning project in the Competition of Ideas for Architectural Design of the Service Areas was presented in the offices of Expo 2015 in Via Rovello 2, Milan.
The Competition winners, Onsitestudio Srl (Gian Carlo Floridi and Angelo Lunati) with Andrea Liverani, Enrico Molteni, Monica Lavagna, Lavinia Chiara Tagliabue, and Michela Buzzetti were presented with the award by Giuseppe Sala, Managing Director of Expo2015 SpA. The winners take home a cash prize of 90,000 euros. During the press conference and awards ceremony, the winners also had the opportunity to present their project, where water, wood, light, and shadow are the structural components of a functional and inviting public space.
The Competition was a great national and international success, drawing in 86 groups of architects and engineers who envisioned new structures and designs that place the focus on architectural and spatial quality.
The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th ranked projects will each receive a prize of 14,000 euros: Ole Arquitectos SLP (Pedro Ledo Márquez, Jesús Orúe Vázquez, Jesús Lázaro Izquierdo, Javier Bononato Vázquez, Javier Perdigones Gómez, Giulia Giovannoni, Sebastian Moya Benicio, and Francesca Cristiano from Spain, 2nd prize), Pedro Ferreira da Silva Teixeira de Melo with Chiara Sebastiana Maria Ternullo and Nuno Fernando Afonso Marcos (from Portugal, 3rd prize), Salvatore Dierna with Alessandra Battisti, Silvia Cimini, Maria Beatrice Andreucci, Letizia Martinelli, Rosanna Morleo and Fabrizio Tucci (from Italy, 4th place), and Fabio Prada with Paola Trivini, Michele Saucelli and Salvatore Musarò (from Italy, 5th place).
