France will take part to Expo Milano 2015: the number of Official Participants rises to 67

With the confirmation of France, the number of Official Participants to the World Expo of Milan rises to 67.

By giving the news, the General Commissioner of Expo Milano 2015, Roberto Formigoni, and the Special Commissioner of the Italian Government for Expo Milano 2015, Giuliano Pisapia, underlined the importance that another big Country confirmed its adhesion. In their opinion, the increasing number of new Official Participants bears witness to the strong appeal of Expo Milano 2015 all over the world.

The theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” is so distinctive that it played a strategic role in the choice made by France, one of the leading Countries in Europe and in the world in agricultural production, as the President Nicolas Sarkozy wrote in the confirmation letter: “France, that is strongly linked to Italy in every field, recognizes a special interest in the event and in the theme”.

The General Commissioner Formigoni and the Special Commissioner Pisapia renewed their commitment to ensure the best visibility and the widest international attention to Expo Milano 2015.

“The target of 50 Official Participants, on schedule by the end of 2011, is widely overcome. We will provide each political, cultural and economic system in the world and the scientific communities with special meetings in order to exchange and share ideas and to give the World Expo of Milan appeal, intelligence and innovation, fundamental items to draw million people’s attention to the event”, the General Commissioner Formigoni said. The Special Commissioner Pisapia declared: “France adhesion to Expo shows the value and the international appreciation of our project. The confirmation of this great Nation brings the number of Countries that have already confirmed their participation to 67. This is the highest number of Participants that a World Expo has ever reached three years before the Expo beginning. Thanks to this adhesion the important friendship between Milan, Italy and France will be reinforced”.
