Awarded the tender for the “Piastra” for a value of € 165 Million. The Prime Minister, Mr. Monti: “At every mission abroad the Italian Government encourages companies to take part in Expo Milano 2015”

165 Million. This is the value of the tender for the “Piastra” (the infrastructural plate) that has been awarded to a group of companies united temporarily led by Ing. E. Mantovani S.p.A.. This is the most important tender for the Universal Exposition of Milan, a crucial step in the path of the most relevant international event that Italy will host in the next years. Even the Prime Minister, Mario Monti, emphasized the crucial role of businesses. “At every mission abroad the Italian Government encourages companies to take part in Expo Milano 2015”, he stated by attending the international conference “Woman in Diplomacy”, on 16th July at Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among the participants: Diana Bracco, President of Milano 2015 Company, and the CEO Giuseppe Sala.

On the basis of the ranking, announced on 16th July, the works for the infrastructural plate will be realized by a group of companies composed of Ing. E. Mantovani S.p.A. (lead company), Socostramo S.r.l., Consorzio Veneto Cooperativo S.C.p.A., Sielv S.p.A. e Ventura S.p.A.. The tender includes the construction of the cover plate, the urbanization of the exhibition site, plumbing systems, roads, landscaping and landscape gardening, the underground service architecture and the structure of the Corporate Theme Pavilions and pathways. 

According to the most profitable economic bid criterium, the winning offer  totaled 82.641 points out of 100, for a total value of €165.13 Million (excluding VAT and inclusive of security charges not subject to discount and equal to € 16.20 Mln).

The tender was announced on December 20th 2011 and, following the fulfillment of all legal obligations, will be awarded officially within a period of two weeks.
