With the adhesion of Zambia the number of official participants rises to 89

“We aim to exceed 90 official participants soon”, stated Mr. Roberto Formigoni, General Commissioner of Expo Milano 2015, announcing the participation of Zambia. With the adhesion of the African country the number of Official Participants to the World Exposition of Milan rises to 89. “We are getting the approval of an increasing number of African countries - added Mr Formigoni –. As a matter of the fact, Africa is one of the most important stakeholders involved in Expo Milano 2015 and in its issues”.

The confirmation of Zambia demonstrates that more and more countries are interested in the clusters, the innovative model of participation offered by Expo Milano 2015. Zambia had already expressed its interest in clusters by participating to the first working group “Legumes, Oil Seeds and Fruits” organized recently by Expo Milano 2015.

In the adhesion note, the Government of the African country explained that the participation is aimed “to provide a continued exposure of its business community to the global platform as well as being a player in global commercial activities”.

The opportunities offered by the theme “Feeding the planet, energy for life” and by the project of turning the Expo site into a “Digital Smart City” continues to arouse the interest of the countries.
