The Italian Minister Corrado Passera: “Expo is an excellent occasion to demonstrate Italy works as a system”. Signed an agreement with the Italian Agency for Foreign Trade (ICE)

“Expo is a excellent occasion to demonstrate Italy works as a system”. The Italian Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Corrado Passera concluded with this remark the presentation of the Italian Agency for Foreign Trade’s (ICE) annual report 2011-2012, held on 19th July in Rome. Even the CEO of Expo 2015 Company, Mr. Giuseppe Sala, attended the meeting, to sign an important agreement with the President of the Institute, Riccardo Monti, aimed at promoting Italian businesses abroad.

“The signature of the agreement with ICE – explained Mr. Sala – is a further step towards Expo Milano 2015. The commercial network of the Italian Institute for Foreign Trade will allow us to make the Universal Exposition of Milan known all over the world by strengthening the international dimension of the event.  This contribution will be combined with the personal effort of the Prime Minister, Mr. Mario Monti, aimed to guarantee the success of Expo Milano 2015 by encouraging worldwide companies to take part in the event. Expo Milano 2015 is an Italian event, relevant on an international scale. It is a bet that we’ll win only if we’ll keep on working together”.

“Developing a sustainable agriculture and ensuring food sure and secure thanks to research and technology in order to improve the production chain is one of the main goals we want to achieve”, stated Mr. Riccardo Monti. “That is why there is a representative of the Agriculture Ministry in the committee that plans the strategies of the Agency. We are sure that the Italian businesses will contribute to the event properly. The agreement, signed today, renews a dialogue begun in 2009 through a protocol of understanding among the Ministry of Economic Development, Institute for Foreign Trade and Expo 2015 Company. Today’s agreement will allow, through common initiatives, to promote abroad an event that will bring not only Milan but also Italy to world prominence”.
